Imagemakers Photograghy Contest

2018 Image Makers Photography Contest!
This comprehensive photography contest encourages girls and boys to learn and practice photography, expressing themselves in creative and innovative ways. ImageMakers provides local recognition through an annual photography contest.

Photos must be printed and/or framed and dropped off at the BGCRE Club house during regular business hours. (170 Cross Highway Road, Redding, CT)

Below are suggested photographic themes to consider when you are submitting your entries.

  • Culture and Tradition: Depicting the events, activities, stories and social gatherings that make up our world, these photographs might show the daily life of a family or traditions or emerging trends that define a group.
  • Nature and Surroundings: These photographs depict our physical surroundings, whether it’s natural beauty or the streets outside.
  • Portraits: Portraits are a representation of a person or people in which the facial expression is predominant, providing insight into personality, mood and style.

The photos will be judged by age group (6-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18 year olds).

  1. Anyone between the ages of 6-18 is eligible to submit photo entries.
  2. You may submit more than one photo.
  3. Photographs must have been taken by the person submitting the photo.
  4. Photos must be printed and dropped off at the BGCRE Club house by April 30th.
  5. Please provide your name, age group, photo category, phone number and email for each photo submitted.
Photos will be hung and displayed at the BGCRE club house the following week after winners are announced. More information regarding the contest will be released soon!
 Please feel free to email Riley Hilford at   and Casey Daignault at   with any questions you may have.

Challenger Baseball Registration is Open

Challenger Baseball Division 2018

(Open to Boys and Girls)

The Boys & Girls Club of Redding-Easton’s Challenger Division is a program that enables developmentally and physically-challenged youth to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.

The philosophy is to give all children the chance to play baseball in a setting that is fun and supportive.  In Challenger baseball, scores don’t count - everybody is a winner. It’s all about acceptance, self-esteem, positive learning experiences and team spirit.

Spring 2018 Divisions & Fees

BGCRE Softball divisions are structured in accordance with the age-based requirements of Little League. However, we also take into account other factors like skill level. Generally, "playing age" for a given calendar year is determined by the year in which the player was born. For 2017, the age divisions are:

T-Ball = Born in 2011 or 2012
AA = Born in 2009 or 2010
AAA = Born in 2007 or 2008
Majors = Born in 2005 or 2006
Juniors = Born in 2003 or 2004

Softball program fees are $100 for T-Ball, $155 for AA, and $230 for AAA, Majors, and Juniors.

Note that your player must be a BGCRE member for 2017-2018 to register. If you have not yet paid the BGCRE membership fee ($50) for 2017-2018, you will be prompted to do so as part of the Spring softball registration process.
